These helpful cleaning tools are constructed with stiff fibers that act like mini scrub brushes to scour residue and carbon buildup out of a pipe's airway. The pliable metal core can be bent in half, doubling its diameter for wider parts of the pipe.
Wait until your pipe is cool to the touch before disassembling and cleaning. Insert a pipe cleaner into the airway, gently pushing and twisting back and forth to scrape away buildup. It is recommended to start with a hard bristle pipe cleaner to break up the residue, then use a soft bristle pipe cleaner to gently brush out any remaining loosened debris from the airway until it comes out clean. Pipe cleaners are abrasive, and should only be used on the interior as they could scuff the exterior finish of traditional pipes.
